My laptop desperately needed a cover of some kind so I had been debating what kind of case to make. A zippered pouch? A messenger bag? Something with a handle or without? With a zipper or without? I’m pretty nervous about sewing zippers so when I saw this idea somewhere out there in the Internet, I knew it was something that would work and would be something I could actually make!
It is basically just padded strip of fabric that is joined to fit snuggly around the laptop. I joined a bunch of jelly roll strips together then quilted them and joined them. The binding on the ends finished the edges nicely but was a little fiddly! To hold it in place I made a covered elastic strap that just slides one and stops the computer from falling out of the ends. The cover of the strap is actually some of the leftover from the slip case.
It works perfectly! It is not too bulky to slip inside another bag when I go somewhere, and the case also doubles as a mat to go under the computer and protect the table top as I’m working.

Love the Macbook case, it is very you! Great photo from coffee the other day, love that it encapsulates just how much hair my girls have!
