Gorgeous work from Art by the Inch
I though I’d share some of the wonderful things I come across in the blogosphere, and Wednesday seemed a good day to do it!
I started surfing and came across a reference to “Inchies, Twinchies, Rinchies and Moos”. What?! So a bit of research was required and here’s the answer…
I found a great clear explanation at Go Make Something, which aught me that Inchies are 1″ squares, Twinchies are 2″ squares, Rinchies are 1″ circles and Moos are rectangle shaped cards – 1 1/8″ x 2 3/4″ . Can you tell this did not start in Australia? (we don’t usually talk in inches here;-)
Then I found you can also have Rolos, made using 3″x5″ Rolodex cards as the base.
So these things get made, and swapped, and used to create or decorate other things. They can be paper crafted, and used in scrapbooking, card making, and other paper crafts. They can be made of fabric and used in patchworking, quilting, and other fabric crafts. Or they can use any other medium you can think of – paint, ink, metal, stamps, stickers, etc etc etc.
Naturally there are amazing crafters out there creating these things! Here’s a small sample of what I found:

Art by the Inch has beautiful details – including the picture at the top of this post.
Cute cards using Inchies here at All in an Inch.
And here’s a blog about inchie swapping: Art Squares Swap.
Hope you enjoyed the info,
