We have this HUGE front door!
It’s beautiful but it doesn’t stay open on its own,
which would be handy when chatting to someone
at the front door or carrying stuff in,
so I’ve been thinking for a while that we needed a door stop.
Saturday afternoon while the kids were happy
I decided to make one.
I had bought a heavy metal doorstop at some point
so some leftover bag fabric made a great little cover.
Add a handle to move it around easily and all done!

This is great! I've been thinking for awhile I need to make a couple of doorstops. Our doors won't stay open b/c my OCD 20 month odl feels the need to close them!!

what a great idea! I love the way it looks and the handle will be handy too.

Such a good idea! We use a river rock. I painted it, but still, it's a rock. Love the strap, too. Clever.

Hello and thanks for stopping by my blog. Wow, you are quite creative! My mom and sister are too. Unfortunately, that gene didn't get passed to me.

We have the opposite problem, our door won't stay shut unless we lock it or put something heavy behind it. (It is a 90 year old door and very heavy). Maybe I can make something like this to put in back of the door so my kids can open the door themselves!!!

Cute idea! We have a doorstop on our bathroom door in the master and it's one of those ugly rubber ones. This would be so much better!
