For a couple of months now Little Miss has been dying to have chores and earn pocket money.
I’ve been promising to discuss it with Crafty Daddy and make decisions.
So I finally did (- one happy 6 year old here 😉
Of course, there had to be some crafty-ness involved…
I was inspired by Thirty Handmade Days to make chore sticks.
The kids coloured in the end of the sticks and I wrote the chores on the other end.
Then they have a jar each and as each chore is done each day they turn the stick over.
I also have a jar with sticks for each day of the week.
At the end of each day, I flip that day’s stick if they’ve done all their chores.
Then the sticks are ready for the next day.
The extra 4 jars are for the money – one each for “Save” and “Spend”.
They’ll also put aside a share for giving at church on Sunday morning.
That's such a cool idea? Are those tongue depressor sticks? Cool 🙂 Makes me look forward to my boy being old enough for pocket money.
They are like tongue depressor stick, Jodie. I found them in a craft shop for only a couple of dollars for 50.
That is such a cool project!~ Thanks for sharing and popping over my place too!
Your chore sticks are a great idea–very fun, too!
Great idea!!! So creative, anything that helps and is cute, right? Have a great day!

I am totally inspired. My daughter is always asking to help with things, but since she is only 5, I never really let her (much). This would be fun for both of us.
Whoa, what a great idea! Much more interactive than a simple chore chart. I'm taking notes for my future kids…
Thank you for linking this up as well!
This would probably make chores a lot funner! Cute idea! thanks for linking up! 🙂
What a great idea! I'm bookmarking this for when my son gets a little older.
Thanks for linking up to my Pajama Party! Please join me next week again =)
