I rarely make playdough
because I can’t be bothered standing at the stove
stirring it while it cooks.
But Mr Happy has been sick
and needed something to do other than watch TV for hours!
So I searched
and found this recipe which took me
10 minutes max!
The kids love it.
Many thanks to This Site
2 cups of plain flour
4 tablespoons of ‘cream of tartar’
2 tablespoons of cooking oil
1 cup of salt
2 cups of boiling water
food colouring
*Just pop it all in a mixing bowl and mix!
*It looks as though it is not going to mix well at first but hang in there and throw it onto the bench to knead, and it will come together really nicely.
Another handy tip:
According to HubPages
You can substitue 1/4 tsp of lemon juice or white vinegar for each 1/8 tsp of cream of tartar.
Be aware if you use vinegar, the play-doh will have a vinegar smell
Edit: And one more tip from Mummy S:
This is the recipe I use for playdough too. If you put it in a zip lock bag and keep it in the fridge it keeps for AGES – I made green and red (separately) at Christmas time and put glitter all through it and it’s still good.

how fun! I've wanted to try making playdough for a while, this recipe looks easy! I love that you added sparkles to it at Christmas, my daughter would love that!
