I don’t often sew clothes for myself.
I think I’m just not confident that they’ll fit well.
But this skirt looked so easy over at Cluck Cluck Sew
that when I came across some fabric reduced
I had to give it a go.
It’s really just a couple of rectangles tapered at the top and stitched together.
Then the long ruffle is attached to the bottom.
It isn’t even hemmed!
There’s a simple casing and elastic at the top.
But can anyone tell how to stop the edges curling
and making it hard to cut straight?
Is there a trick?
I’m used to quilting cotton that sits perfectly flat
so I was frustrated cutting this stretch fabric.
(and I think it might be a bit wonky! Shhhh! Don’t tell!)

Thanks Ky! Ruffles cover a multitude of sewing sins I think…
