Balloon Pinwheel block

On my Sewing day last friday,
I couldn’t resist starting on a new quilt.
Yes, I know I have a few still in progress…
but anyway…
This is the new fabric I won in the Qld Flood Relief Auction 
a couple of weeks ago.
I have cut some of it into 2.5″ strips
and teamed it with some white-on-white background fabric.
I LOVE how the colours pop!

The design is from another Lintott book
The blocks remind me of pinwheels
and the fabric includes hot air balloons,
so I’m calling this quilt my Balloon Pinwheel quilt.
So far I’ve only done one block
but you’ll see more soon.
