Crafty Hooks

by Tonya Grant |Filed Under: Organisation, Storage Tagged With: Ikea Get a Weekly Update of all Articles

After writing about my kids’ cool Ikea craft table the other day, I found myself shopping there unexpectedly. Naturally, that meant I took the chance to create some more storage solutions.

Our garage opens into our house via a narrow hallway. It’s the place where shoes get taken off and school bags get dumped. Now it will be the place where hats and scarves can be hung up, thanks to these nifty hooks.

I have shamelessly stolen this idea from B, my clever friend who writes at B Being Cool. I’ve even bought the same Ikea hooks that she has. She assures me that her kids have never bumped their heads on them as I had pictured mine might so hopefully mine too will avoid head injuries that CraftyDaddy would then have to roll his eyes about!

The red scarf is the one I started in this post. I’ve been wearing it A LOT so naturally it was the first thing to hang on the hooks.

I made my own hooks a few days ago, for our bedroom wall, and it really saves some floor space. I am Swedish but live in California, USA, and it is just funny that all around the world people are shopping at Ikea! I’ve grown up with it and still shops there. Your hooks look great, and so does the scarf.

Thanks for stopping by, Isabell. How does California compare to Sweden? A bit different, I would imagine!

That is just what I need to tidy up the pile of hoodies and jackets in my entrance hall that is driving me nuts. I’m not sure my hubby is going to let me go to IKEA though – I always come back with way more than I planned.

My husband just doesn’t like putting together the stuff I come home with. He really, really doesn’t like it! But he always helps me anyway – what a great guy!

I try to do it myself, but always seem to get stuck and need my husband for some brute force. I’m sure it shouldn’t be like that, but it always happens! It’s nice to have helpful husbands around!
