I LOVED this green fabric as soon as I saw it. So fresh and ‘Summer-y’ and crisp. I made coasters out of it one afternoon when I suddenly realised I had invited a dozen girls to come and craft with me and didn’t have enough coasters for them all. That same day I started a table runner to match but it has taken much longer.
The pattern was inspired by a quilt in this book by Joelle Hoverson. I made it double-sided so I can flip it over if there’s any unfortunate accidents. (I have kids. These things happen. Usually just before guests arrive!) There is a layer of iron-on Pellon between the pieced layers. I find it easy to use on smaller projects as I can iron it on and it doesn’t shift while I’m quilting. The quilting is super simple. I’ve done lines up and down the length of the runner that are parallel but slightly wavy.
Now I think I’ll need to have all those girls over again. Any excuse for another crafty night! {wink}

It’s looks great. So fresh! I understand the need for reversible runner. I have to messy kids who are big on spilling… everything.
Now I have to convince them that its not to wipe their fingers on too!
I do prefer to finish a project before starting on something new…although I have been known to discard projects when they haven’t been turning out as good as I would like them to!

I really like to start projects and finish them quickly so I can move on to something new. I’ve started to only do smaller projects so they can be done more quickly. However, I have a TON of half-finished knitting & quilting crafts in my closet from years ago that I got sick of. Hopefully, one day I’ll have the motivation to finish them!
I’ve decided my desire to finish little projects is a “stage of life” thing. As a mum with kids I seem to have lots of jobs that I have to do again and again and again. So I really enjoy finishing a project and knowing that its all done. I figure one day I’ll go back to finish my bigger projects that have been packed away for now.

I’m terrible for starting projects and finsihing them ages later, I’d say about half the things I start I do that with, the other half I zip through in one sitting, once I put anything to one side I usually gets left for far too long!
