Happy Valentine’s Day!
I’ve never taken part in a craft swap before. I’ve read about them on various blogs and thought about it, but I seem to have so little time to sew things for my kids and my store that adding another urgent sewing project seems like hard work.
But when I started writing over at And Sew We Craft, Amy decided to run a swap and I thought I’d have a go. The theme was Valentine’s Day, so I went with one of my favourite colour combinations – red and white.
I made a zippered pouch and had lots of fun trying a new crochet design – a heart garland. Running a little behind time, I popped it all in the mail in a cute package and sent it winging its way to New Zealand.
A couple of days later, I received a package from my secret partner. Even the package was pretty!
My first thought? Gorgeous! Thank you, lovely partner! I love it!
Here’s the beautiful patchwork that is now at my place:
My second thought? I should have made more for my partner.
But I suppose that’s part of the whole swap thing that everyone makes something different and unique, and they aren’t supposed to be equivalent. Still, I hope my partner likes her gift.
In the end, it really wasn’t hard work at all! It was fun!
Have you taken part in any swaps online? Do you enjoy the extra project or are they hard work sometimes?

Hi
Just thought to let you know that I received my swap item a couple of days ago and it is lovely. Miss 15 has eyed up the heart garland, but so far not touched it…lol

I’m so glad you like it and it arrived safely! Perhaps I should send a second garland just for Miss 15…
