Each year I encourage the kids to choose a special present for Daddy just from them. Sometimes they have no ideas and I have to help them out a bit, but this year Mr Happy spotted a table top soccer game kit in a catalogue that he was sure Daddy would love. He told me that Daddy would love it because it would be fun to play with and because they could build it together. I had to agree!
So we searched all around BigW until we found it stashed in the tool section. Then we had to debate whether Daddy had the right tools for the job or not. But with a little checking we found that he had everything listed. Perfect!
From the moment Daddy opened it on Christmas Day, Mr Happy has been asking when they could build it!
Luckily Daddy had a pretty light schedule last week at work and they found some hours here and there to put it together. The kids were excited to help Daddy with the hand saw and there was much discussion about which glue to use. There is still some sanding to be done I’m told but they’ve finished enough to play with it. Fun!
In case you’re thinking this sounds like a sponsored post, it isn’t. I just thought it was a perfect crafty kind of activity for the kids to do with Dad and thought I’d share. There are actually a bunch of similar kits at BigW to build different toys and household items. The kit was mostly pre-cut pieces so it was a very doable project for even the least handy person to achieve.
