An idea has been growing in my head lately…
I seem to have heaps of UFO’s – Un-Finished Objects – stashed away in my craft room, waiting for me to one day get back to them and finish them. Quilts. Sewing projects. Crochet blankets. Clothes for the kids. Scrapbooks.
But I’m the kind of girl who needs some incentive sometimes. Perhaps a little push. Perhaps a “pay off”.
Perhaps a way to be accountable for finishing them.
So to the idea…
What if I told my blog readers that I was going to finish one a month for the rest of the year?
I’d certainly feel some pressure to finish them if I had said that I was going to! Especially as many of my blog readers are also friends who are likely to actually see me around town and ASK me if I’ve finished a UFO yet!
Hmmm… good plan…
Then the idea grew a little more…
What if my friends – and my readers, because let’s face it, they’re friends too! – had UFO’s too? And what if they wanted to join in this quest to finish some by making themselves accountable to someone else? Like me?
What if I created a little team of us that could support each other and encourage each other to finish a UFO a month for the rest of 2013?
Would anyone out there be interested? Would anyone join me?

Count me in! I am running out of space to store my UFO’s!

Oh the pressure, just what I need. I’m in!

Interesting that you have decided to do this now! This is my year to finish off UFOs. I’ve been pulling UFOs out of boxes over the past month or so, and finishing them off, amongst other projects that are needing my attention. It’s such a good feeling to have them done. I still have way more to do, so I give you permission to ask me how I’m going with them! Can’t promise one a month as some of them may take quite a while to finish, but I do promise to keep working on them throughout the year!

My problem would be finding them in my craft room – I know there’s plenty in there!
I tried to do finish it February but only managed two things.
I must not start any new projects!

Little pressure works wonders. Yes I am in however if I may distort the rule, I have a huge UFO that has been sitting for years, so my promise is to finish it by the end of the year but finish 1 sub-UFO each month. I have dedicated a whole page to it on my blog – W.I.P – work in progress.

I’d love to so long as its not sewing as I have no machine at the moment. Although I must say I actually for once have no unfinished work as I haven’t been game to start anything new until prac is over!

Sounds like a great idea. I started the year finishing off but ive been losing the enthusiasm – maybe this is what I need to keep going!!
