The last time I ventured to Ikea, I picked up my very nice turquoise craft trolley. It is getting used every day to keep my couch clear of craft projects – much to my husband’s joy! But I also bought the matching tray, not really having a plan for it but loving the large size and gorgeous colour.
Well, I found a use for it.
Patchwork pieces tray!
Some patchwork designs start as lots of little pieces and it can be very important to get them in the right order as you stitch them together. But often you stitch some then take them to the ironing board to press the seams before you stitch the next set. That’s when I ALWAYS seem to get them mixed up!
Not with my new tray.
I was able to lay them out on my lovely tray, and take them back and forth between the sewing machine and the ironing board (in the other room) without messing them up all. So my Escalator Block came out exactly the way I planned it.
A few details:
My tray is from Ikea and is called a Omvaxlande Tray. It is light weight metal and matches my Rascog Kitchen Trolley.
Of course, any flat tray would do the same job so grab one from the kitchen next time you are piecing and make your life just a little easier.
