Last weekend I spent the weekend crafting with a wonderful group of women. Some of them were friends already and others were new friends. It was the annual Creative Craft Retreat at Lake Perseverance and as always it was fabulous. The last couple of years I have taught patchwork quilting classes at this event but this year I worked on my own projects instead.
There were still classes going on though. This lovely was the sample by Val Laird for the silk ribbon embroidery class. Her students created this picture by the end of the weekend and were very proud of themselves.
This was the quilt taught by Di this year using jelly rolls. For some of her students it was the first quilt they had ever made so they were excited to have it almost completed by Sunday afternoon.
Joan’s mixed media class made more than one each of these beautiful canvasses. The techniques they used will also be useful on other canvas projects and in their scrapbooking.
Then there are lots of other ladies who worked on their own projects like I did. This gorgeous appliqué owl was one of two I saw finished.
This beautiful quilt top was finished too. It is a mix of lovely softy colours and I was told will be for their master bedroom.
Joan the mixed media teacher also found time to work on her own canvas – a Father’s Day gift for her husband. So sweet!
I have lots more photos to share but if you’re in South East Queensland and would like to attend our Retreat, the next one will be November 7-9 2014 and you can find out more information at the Creative Craft Retreat website.

Gorgeous creations. I went to a retreat recently with friends and made some awesome things. Was more about the girls weekend away for me than the actual crafting results!
