When you love your rainbow loom, you create all kinds of stuff. Stuff that you want to show off!
One thing you can do is attach your creations to your pens and pencils. Or so my kids decided during the school holidays! Mr Happy decided to create not one, not two, but three different accessories for his favourite green pen.
First, there was the loom pencil grip in a green and white fishtail pattern which was great for a guy who often complains about sore hands when he writes his homework. This creates a nice padded section near the tip of his pen that makes it much more comfortable to write with. Fun to make AND useful for homework? WIN – WIN!
Find the tutorial for the pencil grip in this post.
The other end of the pen got a new pencil sleeve. This was part of the tutorial that we found for the final accessory, the pencil topper. The penguin pencil topper is so cute! You can see it in a previous post too: Rainbow Loom Penguins.
The sleeve can cover as much or as little of your pen or pencil as you wish – you can just make it longer or shorter. Then there are lots of different toppers that can be attached.
Little Miss decided she’d rather have Hello Kitty on her pen – in purple, of course. She made the sleeve section a bit shorter so that you can still see the coordinating perple pen.
These would be great gifts for the kids to make for friends at the end of the school year I think. I must get them started on that!
