Last year on Instagram I shared my Best Nine and was curious to see which pictures had been most liked for the entire year. So when I saw the Best Nine come back for 2016, I couldn’t resist finding out what had been popular on my Instagram this year.

Mine is a happy rainbow mixture of crochet, stitching and calligraphy. I’m not really surprised. I do share a lot of rainbows on my feed and I have done quite a lot of crochet this year rather than sewing or quilting.
The Rainbow Granny Square blanket was a simple one to create but really showed off the variegated yarn. I also used this picture when I wrote about my basic crochet tools.

The Denim Ripple blanket is my current project – in fact, I just posted another progress shot on Instagram this morning! It will use only three colours and the easy ripple tutorial from Attic24 that I also use for this blanket and this blanket.

I rarely share photos that are not my own on Instagram but I couldn’t resist this rainbow crochet from Annie Design Crochet. It turned out to be one of the most popular posts!

This stitching was a throwback to an older project, my Rainbow Cross Stitch Blocks. I still love these! Each block pattern was released here on the blog last year and then I created a special downloadable PDF pattern with all the blocks in one place.
See the finished stitching project here.
I loved my rainbow cross stitch so much that I started a new project this year: the Pastel Rainbow Blocks. These are based on the sae free pattern as the original blocks but stitched in new pastel shades.
