Inspired by the birthday cake book that lives on the bookshelf and rarely gets used, Little Miss and I decided that they would make castles. The construction materials were yummy: mini swiss rolls, icing, mini meringues, smarties, mini marshmallows, mini wafer cones, biscuits and icing flowers.

The book that inspired these is 30 Minute Kids’ Cakes by Sara Lewis, although ours look nothing like the Rapunzel cake in the book! I can’t find that book on Fishpond any more so here’s a selection of cake books to inspire you.
