Finish a UFO Challenge Update

by Tonya Grant |Filed Under: Crafts Tagged With: UFO Get a Weekly Update of all Articles

finish a ufo challenge

I am determined to finish some UFO’s – Un-Finished Objects – from my craft room. Remember I had that idea last week? Well, here’s the next step.

I’m going to announce which UFO I’m working on at the start of each month in a blog post. Then at the end of each month I’ll let you know how I went. Pretty simple.

But I want you to join me! So I want you to choose one of your unfinished projects and we can encourage each other to get them finished. When I do my monthly announcement post, you can also share what you will working on. Maybe you have a quilt that needs quilting? Or perhaps you have a half done crochet blanket? Do you have a scrapbooking album that never quite got done? Or maybe there is an area in your home that you’ve been meaning to sort and organise but just haven’t gotten to yet? You might even have an ebook or a blog project that you need some motivation on!

Whatever your UFO is, you can join the UFO Challenge Team to be accountable for getting some work done on it. This is not a pressure thing. It’s a chance to be encouraged to continue and keep going by others who need your motivation as well.

I’ll be on social media (as usual!) sharing my progress and asking about yours. I’ll use the hashtag #UFOChallenge so we can find each other.

What do you think? Are you in? (I know some of you are!)

So sign up for the Team below. That way I can send you an email or 3 each month to stay in touch. Then look for my first UFO post next week.

great idea! I’ll keep it in mind for a time when sanity returns later this year (do projects-not-started count as unfinished?)

Where would I start? I have too much to choose from and blogging uses up more time than I care to admit! I have quilting and crocheting to do. This could be fun…

Sounds like a great idea! My UFO pile has gotten so big it’s a struggle to fit it all on the shelf!

Awesome idea! I just signed up, so many unfinished projects, I definitely need some motivation to finish them 🙂

Thanks for hosting this challenge. Hopefully, it’s just what I need to get my moving on some un-finished projects. For June I’m finishing a Disappearing 9-Patch quilt to go in the camper.

I posted about the challenge and my plan for June on my blog, Just One More Thing . . ., here: http://tdreads.blogspot.com/2013/06/aliens-have-landed.html

I’ve posted on my blog about it as well, though haven’t narrowed it down to one project yet – probably why nothing gets finished.

Guilty as charged! I have at least one of every “maybe” you mentioned, plus a few more! And so many ideas for what else I want to do. With my sister getting married in October, a 2 yo with tons of energy, a small crafting business on Etsy.com, and a new baby on the way, and a blog I’m always meaning to post on, there are simply too many projects and not enough time! But maybe with a little ol’ fashion peer pressure, I’ll get through the important ones 🙂

Are you continuing this project in 2014? If you are, I will add it to the finishing page on my quiltbom site. Thanks~
