iPhone App: Easy Stitch

Easy Stitch for iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad on the iTunes App Store

With our new CrochetAlong starting over at And Sew We Craft, I thought I’d share something that I’ve found super helpful. I learnt to crochet as a child, but I didn’t crochet for many years until recently so my memory of the stitches is pretty rusty. Recently I found an iPhone app that has been so helpful with this. Easy Stitch includes lots of stitching hints and tips but my favourite section is the library of crochet stitches. I can go into the Crochet menu and find tutorials for chain stitch, double crochet (like our CrochetAlong blanket), treble crochet and more. There is even a section of edges and trimmings. All the basic stitches include a step by step explanation with illustrations and video. I find a quick look at the illustrations is enough to remind me of my stitches.

This app also has sections for embroidery and knitting with the same sort of stitch guides and tutorials. There are tips on tools and information about types of yarns too. Love it!

I rarely pay for iPhone apps but this one has been well worth the $2.99. You can find more information and a link to the iTunes store here.
