Happy Easter from my Family to You and Yours

We are having a fabulous Easter weekend hanging out at Easterfest but we will also be doing our special Egg Hunt so I wanted to give you a peek. My Little Miss wanted something HARD this year. Her request was for a hunt based on the game Cluedo but I wasn’t so sure that a murder-mystery was really in keeping with all the other important themes of Easter. So after a bit of thinking I came up with a very tricky puzzle instead. I love puzzles and I these particular type of logic puzzles are one that I remember doing as a kid. The idea is to use the grid cross-reference all the information you know from the clues then use logic to work out the remaining information. I have just sat here and done this puzzle myself to make sure it worked and it probably took me about half an hour to work through so that will give you an idea of the time needed.

The Hunt: My plan is to print out the clues and chop them into strips. Then I will hide them inside plastic Easter eggs around the house. I’ll probably pop some little chocolate eggs in too – I know they are expecting chocolate! The kids will need to find all the clues, then solve the puzzle. You could just as easily just print the puzzle and use it as a game too. There is one page with the clues and another with the grid. Both are PDFs so they should print easily.

Puzzle Easter Egg Hunt Kids

Easter Egg Hunt

Five friends decided to have an Easter Egg Hunt. They knew that the eggs were hidden around the house but what they didn’t know was that there were FIVE bunnies hiding the eggs and each one had hidden a different number of eggs. They had carried the eggs in five different containers. Can you use the clues to work out: the age of each friend, the number of eggs they found, which bunny hid the eggs they found, and the room and container that they found them in?

Do you have an answer key for the egg hunt? I wanted to be sure I figured out the answers correctly. Thanks so much!

I’m afraid I don’t, Connie. This was created a few years ago. But there is usually only one correct solution to these types of puzzles so if yours works, it would be correct!
