Deep Sunday: Working from Home

by Tonya Grant |Filed Under: Life Tagged With: Blogging, Deep Sunday Get a Weekly Update of all Articles

working from home craft blogger

Here’s a shot of my workplace from earlier this week.

The computer on the kitchen table with papers and pens and notebook, plugged in with an extension cord and a coaster always waiting for a cup of coffee.

In the background is some of the washing I did earlier and the Lego left spread around from the before school playtime.

Beyond that is the camera on its tripod set up to photograph my cross rainbow project that I just finished framing.

This is what my days look like.

Sometimes.

And I love it!

I love that my working from home involves fabric and crafting and playing with my camera while also getting all the home stuff done – washing, meals, homework, and cleaning.

I love that it gives me the flexibility to be in Tuckshop for an hour or two on some mornings, or drop in on a friend for coffee.

My “work” is this website. Yes, really!

I work at this every week and because people want to read what I write about, I can earn an income (of sorts) and call it work.

The best bit is I really enjoy it. I love making things and taking photos of them. I love writing up the instructions. I love hanging out on social media and sharing creative projects. I love learning how to make my site look the way I want it to and how be user friendly. I love my work!

How did I get this lucky!?!

Do you love your work?

It has taken me a while to think that way, Caitlin, but it really is my work

I love that you can leave your camera set up! One day I’ll have kids big enough to know better than touch my camera!

Thanks for taking the time to write this post and linking up!

My camera isn’t always in the middle of the living room but the kids were at school so it was safe. Usually I keep it tucked away in the spare room, but I try to leave it on the tripod so I actually take pictures with it!

Don’t tell anyone but part of the reason I work on the kitchen table is that it forces me to clean it up each day for dinner!

I also could not leave a camera set-up in my house! But the toys and washing I can definitely relate to 🙂

I constantly seem to have washing baskets around the room – although Miss 10 has decided she wants to earn some money so I’m paying her $1 per basket – she loves it!

It sure looks like a great setup. You’re very lucky to be able to do something that you absolutely love, and find the passion and drive each day to continue pursuing it. xx

I’ve been working from home for over 2 years now and I’ve loved every minute of it. It’s special! x
