Books for Big Girls

craft books Last week was Book Week here. For those that don’t have kids in Australian primary schools, that means the kids get to dress up as a book character and parade at school.

Little Miss has recently found Philomena Wonderpen books so she dressed up as Philomena: cute girly clothes with a big pen – easy!

Mr Happy appeared at breakfast in his school uniform but with a bit of coaxing decided to be a pirate like Captain Hook in Peter Pan: jeans, T-shirt and pirate eye patch – also easy!

If I were going to dress up for Book Week, I’d have to go as a quilt or a crochet blanket or a fabric scrap. After all, those are the characters in my favourite books!

Here are some of the books I’m thinking I might need to add to my crafty library:

“Spectacular Quilts from Simple Shapes” (Kaffe Fassett) arrived today – I’m looking forward to a quiet read later!
