QuiltyBox July 2016

by Tonya Grant |Filed Under: Quilting Tagged With: QuiltyBox Get a Weekly Update of all Articles

I promised when I uploaded this video on social media last night that I would come back and tell you all about it.

The July 2016 QuiltyBox arrived on my doorstep yesterday which is exciting. I love getting this bundle of inspiration each month. You might remember that I curated a box last year and shared my Rainbow Mini Quilts so this month’s box is right up my alley.

This month the box is curated by Kathleen Starr from Starr Fabrics and includes 2 patterns plus a kit of fabric.

There is set of fat eighths in a rainbow of colours plus a yard of neutral hand dyed fabric to go with it. This is perfect for making either of the two patterns that also came in the box – the Dreams and Wishes pattern or the Shock Wave Pattern. The Dreams and Wishes pattern has the traditional Ohio star with a rainbow twist. The Shock Wave pattern is a super quick strip pieced pattern – perfect for a splash of colour on our rainy Winter days. I feel a new quilt project coming on.

There is also a spool of Superior Thread So Fine #50 and The Binding Tool, a new tool for me that helps create the angled cuts to join binding strips. I must admit I always using straight joins in my binding because I can’t be bothered messing with the angle but this might be the tool to save me. I can’t wait to play with it.

If you want to grab a QuiltyBox, you can buy just one from their website or subscribe to receive regular boxes every month. It is super simple and I really think they are great value for money. Check out the QuiltyBox website here.
