Easiest dress ever!

I had been looking at the pre-shirred fabric in Spotlight now for a while, waiting for a colour combo that Little Miss would like. Finally, one arrived – pink and purple and perfect. Then it was just a matter of wrapping it round her and cutting to length, then sewing it up and adding the straps. The only fiddly bit was making the scraps of the straps into a flower for a headband!

Me, too, Clare! Maybe I can call it "retro" or "vintage" now…

It's totally in now! LOL….I have also whipped one up this week but had to learn to shir myself and need further tutorials, am loving the fabric you bought and will definately look for it in spotlight – I wasn't aware that you could buy it pre-shirred ;)…. I also found a shirred dress of my own that is not working for me and will cut it up and sew it back together to create a new dress for Makayla…should be nice and simple!

Beautiful! I haven't seen that particular shirred fabric [I had the same idea as you, but can't find the fabric]. I've started hand-winding some bobbins with shirring elastic to make my own! I love the effect of shirring, but it is a bit labour-intensive.
