New Quilt Book

by Tonya Grant |Filed Under: Quilting Tagged With: Books, Charm squares, Crafts, Fishpond, Jelly rolls, My Craft Books Get a Weekly Update of all Articles

I love quilt books! Especially ones with great pictures and clear instructions like those by Pam and Nicky Lintott. I already had a couple by these ladies but I got a new one for Christmas – yay!

Here’s a peek at some of the projects…

Here’s what the book looks like in case you want to go shopping. (Clicking on this cover will take you over to Amazon) It’s called “More Layer Cake, Jelly Roll and Charm Quilts”. All the quilts are made using those Moda pre-cuts, but you can easily cut your own fabric to the sizes required. As always in their books, there are instructions with diagrams so they are easy to follow. I also love that each quilt is shown made up in two different ranges of fabric so you get an idea of how different they will look in different colour schemes.

I’m looking forward to making up one of these quilts. But which one first?!

Did you get any craft books for Christmas? I’d love to know if you found any more that I should add to my stash!

Notes: All the quilt pictures are taken of the book using my phone and Snapseed. The link to Amazon is an affiliate link.

I purchased a book the other week called Cups And Saucers by Maaike Bakker. It arrived the other day and its brilliant. Paper piecing is on my to try list this year.

I recently picked up material obsession and love it! Esp all the hand stitching in the patterns. I’ve been reading a lot about Natural Patchwork by Susuko Koseki as well as The Collette Pattern book for dressmaking so I have added both those to my wishlist (which is now enormous :-))

Thanks for the suggestions, Tanya. I’ll have to check those out too

Can I please have a sneeky peek at that book sometime? I really like the charm square quilt in red and navy and I think I might have to make one.

Of course, Anna. I’ll bring it with me one day…
