New Doona Cover

doona cover

A couple of weeks ago I – finally! – found a new doona cover for our bed. I’ve been looking for ages but just haven’t seen anything I loved. We’ve had the last one for years and it was very neutral so I decided it was time for some colour.

This one is lovely – I do love cool crisp green!

But what I love most is the interesting mix of fabrics and sewing. There is a mix of strips of fabric, some plain and some patterned. Some have little pleats in them, and one section is pleats that have been sewn down to create an even more interesting texture. Perfect for a crafty mummy!

Running with Scissors shows you how to create pleats like these in her tutorial at See Kate Sew.

What is your bed linen like? Colour? Pattern? I’m curious…

I LOVE the green! It’s gorgeous. A couple years ago, we went with neutral. I love all-white for our doona cover. But I’m on the lookout for scatter cushions and coordinating curtains for a bit of colour. Might just have to look for some green!

You know this post comes up as the 9 listing when you search “doona cover” WOW! Good work. That is a really unique find. I really like the different textures. Have you checked out our range of doona cover designs yet? http://www.duckprint.com.au/ I got sick all the floral designs and repetitive patterns in store so I started my own brand. I would love to know what you think of our designs.

I love it and am looking to buy the same one myself but wondered if you could help me with a question. In your top image it appears as though it has olive green at the very top (where your chin goes). Is this correct? Is the name of the doona cover Eden by Lux? I have been looking for a long time for a doona cover without white at the top and it is a very big ask evidently!!! Cheers.
