A Day in My {Crafty} Life

by Tonya Grant |Filed Under: Crafts Tagged With: Family, Sewing Get a Weekly Update of all Articles

Some days I drop the kids at school and stay home the rest of the day. I would love to write that on those days I drink coffee, sew and blog all day, but here’s a glimpse at what really happens…

6:30am – get up, shower and dress

7am – Breakfast and coffee while I check emails and Facebook

7:15am – Breakfast for the kids and start the washing.

7:30am – Iron a school uniform that I should have done last night and make lunches

More chores and chatting to kids. Clean kitchen. Start dishwasher. Fold yesterday’s washing.

8:15 – Finish hair and makeup, and put on 2nd load of sheets

8:30am – Take the kids to school, chat to teachers and friends for a minute or two, confirm I can go to Tuckshop tomorrow

9 am – Back home. Hang washing and put on another load.

Put dinner in the slow cooker – lamb roast – yum!

Random tidying up while the kettle boils

9:30am – pay bills and drink 2nd cup of coffee, respond to blog comments, send email to blog subscribers, partly write a blog post or two

11am – Hang more washing & make phonecalls

11:30am – Sewing a custom crochet hook roll

12:30 – lunch time!

1pm – Take photos for blog posts. Edit photos. Edit and publish a blog post

Answer more emails & read a couple of blogs

2:50pm – off to school

3:20pm – home again. Afternoon tea

3:40 – Off to soccer practice

5:10pm – Home from Soccer.

Kids in the bath. Bring in washing. Cook Dinner and eat

6:30pm – Make up beds. Fold clothes.

My First Car was Red

7:15pm – Read stories and get kids to bed

7:40pm – Wash up and clean kitchen

A little sewing

Ironing

8:30pm – TV and crochet

Some more blogging

10:30pm – Shower and bed

What about your days? Do you fit in any crafting?

I usually get some crafting in most days, except when I’ve got the blues or am actively sick. I’m healing from meningitis last year and so that’s my inactive sickness. Anyways, just wanted to let you know I love reading your blog, usually through Google’s Reader. I hope you have a grand time when you get to read this comment. Jen

Thank you Jen! Its always nice to hear from readers – I know they’re out there but they don’t say much sometimes! I’m glad you enjoy my blog and sorry to hear about your meningitis. Hope you are all better soon!

Our days are pretty much the same just exchange sewing for gardening or home deco or fantasizing about them. And crochet for knitting. Oh and ironing for not ironing 🙂

    Happy holidays

{giggles} Maybe I’ll swap ironing for not ironing too… sounds much better!

I, too, am home all day and I admit computer related activities (reading blogs, leaving comments, taking photos, transferring photos, editing photos, writing posts, adding photos, publishing posts, scheduling posts, reading and answering emails and keeping up with Ravelry) take up a lot of my day. With my new iPad it’s even worse because I can use it anywhere, even in the backyard. At least it’s got me reading again, I can borrow ebooks from the local library that I couldn’t read on my Kindle!

I sometimes get some sewing done until the room (on the north east side of the house) gets too cold, then iPad and I are off to the west facing lounge room. But there’s nearly always knitting in front of television in the evenings.

A roast dinner in the slow cooker? I’ll have to look ino that. What a great idea!

I must admit I’m tempted to look into an iPad but with an iphone and a laptop computer I don’t think I can justify it!

The lamb in the slow cooker is one of my favourites! So easy and always so tender and yummy.
