I discovered the idea of a “tasting plate” for kids from a friend.
Its another way to tempt the fussy eaters!
Since then my kids have decided tasting plates are great.
Here’s an afternoon tea plate:
- a chunk of cheddar cheese with a shape cut out
- a strip of ham rolled up
- tiny sandwiches with a mix of white & brown bread
- a fruit muesli bar chopped into fingers
- a few M&M’s (thanks to Grandad)
We have done dinner plates and lunch plates too.
They’re fantastic for those dinners when the kids need
to eat “right now” before they melt down!

Oooh, can I come over for afternoon tea?!? 🙂
