41 Crafty Link Parties

by Tonya Grant |Filed Under: Blogging, Crafts Tagged With: Party, Tips Get a Weekly Update of all Articles

Do you link your blog posts to link parties or memes?

These are posts on different blogs where you can share your posts
and see what others have shared.
It’s a great way to get inspiration, meet clever bloggers
and have visitors to your blog.
There are heaps of different parties out there,
but I mostly participate in crafty ones.
Often you’ll see links to them at the bottom of someone’s blog post,
in their sidebar or on a special page of their blog.

A few tips:

  • Always read the “rules” of the particular meme before you add your link. Generally they are looking for a particular type of post and will remove yours if it doesn’t fit in.
  • It’s also important to link to your specific post, not your main blog URL.
  • There is usually a button with code to copy and paste on your post or blog so that others can find the party too.
  • It’s considered good manners to visit some of the other blogs and leave a comment – especially if they visit you and comment!
  • Many run regularly every week so you can share and visit again.
  • Many also run a post after the meme closes to highlight their favourites so watch out for the that one. (You can follow them so you can find them again)
  • Generally you don’t want to post the same link to the same meme each week – everyone wants to check out some new ideas each time they participate!
  • But it’s ok to post your link to a couple of different memes.
  • Remember the host of the meme will try to visit EVERY entry and that’s a HUGE job – so be nice to them and play by the rules.

Here’s a list of some of my favourites to get you started –
