You might remember that I have mentioned the Creative Craft Retreat a few times in the last few weeks. This year’s retreat is the last weekend of October and I’m teaching a beginner’s quilting class.
Here’s the blurb from the blog:
The retreats are run in association with Toowoomba Community Baptist Church, but all ladies, church-goers or not, are welcome. The costs are kept down as much as possible so that the weekend is affordable and ladies from all walks of life can be ‘treated’. Keeping this in mind, the retreats are held at Lake Perseverance, a beautiful bush location, which has affordable and comfortable shared accommodation (six people to a room) with ensuites in the cabins. The facilities are excellent, and in free time retreat participants can go bushwalking, play tennis, basket ball, or choose from many other sporting options. All meals (yummy food!) and washing up are taken care of… another treat! For the weekend there are a number of different crafts options to choose from (different each year) led by capable teachers or some people bring their own craft projects or UFOs to do. It’s so much fun!
I’ve been going for two years now and have worked on my scrapbooking each year. This year there are five classes running – Bear Making, Crochet, Folk Art Painting, Quilting, and Scrapbooking – or you can bring your own projects to work on. It’s a great chance to get some UFO’s finished!
So if you’re in South East Queensland and would like to get away for a crafty weekend, you can find the registration forms with all the details at the Creative Craft Retreat blog. You can also pop over to the Facebook page for a chat!
