Sometimes I go into fabric stores looking for one thing and somehow come home with other things…
Does that happen to you? Is it only me? Surely not!
Anyway, one day recently I went looking for Christmas fabric for pillowcases (and found some that I used for the Santa’s Night Pillowcases that are now in my store) but I also came home with some very cute owl fabric on a navy blue background. It was in the quilting fabric section but rather than being flat like most quilting cottons, it has some texture in it. I couldn’t resist!
It has since become a couple of pencil cases and some key fobs. I made the key fobs in exactly the same way that I made the bag tags in my recent tutorial. They are around 2″ or 4cm wide, rather than the bigger size I used for the bag tags. I also have some crochet hook rolls and coin purses cut out ready to sew which I hope to have done in the next couple of days.
I’m loving the owls though and I have more fabric left. What else should I create with it?
