Last week we had the Christmas break-up morning tea for the Craft group that I help run. Being that last day for the year we all made Christmas bonbons (or crackers) together. They were very similar to this tutorial over at Mini-Eco.
The templates were drawn on the back of shiny card then cut out. We found the easiest way to cut the diamonds with scissors was to cut the outside shape first, then fold the card through the centre of the diamonds to cut them, then fold the card back the other way to shape it into the cracker.
I didn’t snap many pictures but there was a lot of variety in the decorations. These would be a pretty easy craft to do with the kids too. Thanks to Ms P for letting me snap a picture of her finished set!
Here’s a few more tutorials from around the Blogosphere as well:

They are gorgeous! I wonder if I can make something like this vintage style? hmmmm… I’m off to see what I can come up with!

Can’t wait to see the results!

They look lovely!

Great idea. I remember when we used to make bonbons for all our friends out of toilet rolls – apparently that’s not the done thing anymore 😉

Yes, apparently toilet rolls aren’t clean anymore! I had to roll my eyes when we were told we couldn’t donate them to school for crafts anymore.

I had never thought of making your own bon bond! Do they have really bad jokes in them? 😉
