It has been dull and dreary weather here. Misty. Foggy. Rainy. Cold. Brrr!
So some bright cheery fabric from my fabric stash brightened up my day. All of these lovelies came from Wrapped in Fabric and are waiting for me to get sewing – the perfect activity for such rainy days. The birds on red background are by Riley Blake, and the flowers and the stripes are matching coordinates. The Fat Quarter Shop has a gorgeous quilt kit in these fabrics: Twirly Bird Quilt Kit Hello Sunshine.
This is a better shot of the bottom fabric in the pile. It is Hello Tokyo patchwork squares and I’m itching to make this one into a quick baby quilt. In fact now I think about it, the stripes might work as binding for that quilt. I love stripy binding!
One more bright cheery fabric for a dreary day: these Summer frocks complete with bags and sunglasses from Robert Kaufman. Another fabric into my stash that I LOVE but have no idea what I might make out of it.
Do you add fabric to your stash with a plan, or on a whim without a plan?
I used to only buy fabrics if I had a project in mind. But too often I would think of a project a few months later and want that fabric I remembered but hadn’t bought. Then of course I wouldn’t be able to buy it anymore. So these days I will buy fabric that I absolutely love when I see it. For the sake of my bank balance, I try not to look too often though!
