Organisation: Craft Trolley

I seem to be constantly trying to get my craft stuff organised! Perhaps if I stopped buying new fabric and yarn that would help, but it seems like there are always crafty projects scattered around the house and the designated “craft room” is shocking!

I often crochet on the couch at night so my crochet bag seems to live there but that means it is in the way for the kids to sit and read or watch TV.

So when I went to Ikea with B from BBeingCool a couple of weeks ago and saw this trolley, I knew immediately what to do with it. Of course I was also drawn by the gorgeous colour. CraftyDaddy thinks I’m nuts – he can’t understand the appeal of Ikea or why I would want a metal trolley on wheels in the living room. But luckily he indulges my whims.

The kids helped me build it – they love building stuff. We made sure there was room on the second tray for my bulky crochet bag by putting it lower than halfway down rather than in the middle. The wheels mean I can easily move it to another room if guests are coming or pop it into the corner during the day.

Also at Ikea I found a set of three cream tins that were just crying out for some washi tape and an open container for the top tray. This one is perfect for my notebooks and pencils.

If you’re keen for a craft trolley of your own these are called Raskog kitchen trolleys and I paid $79 at ikea in Brisbane.

Look out tomorrow for my 5 Minute Washi Tape Tins.

I’m very excited Tonya – I bought one of these wonderful trolleys this week, and can’t wait to fill it with all my crafty goodies 🙂 Thanks for the inspiration!
