“OUTSIDE! NOW!”
“But Mum… we want to watch TV.”
“No! Don’t argue! Just go outside and run around and burn off some energy!”
Sound familiar? My kids love being outside but it seems to take a lot of pushing to get them out there sometimes.
We don’t have a huge yard but Little Miss has discovered that I will pretty much let her draw on anything out there with chalk. I figure chalk washes off in the next rain so why not? She draws pictures on the walls, hopscotch on the deck and sometimes writes messages for me to find later.
Yesterday the kids decided to combine chalk with soccer and drew targets on the fence. You can see our fence is a rendered brick so it is perfect for kicking a ball against it. The targets were of various sizes and had points attached to hitting them.
Such a simple game but it kept them amused for half an hour until dinner time. Perfect!
