Ages ago I came across a fabulous tutorial for making a chevron maxi skirt. It got added to my Pinterest board and put aside but it was one of those projects that I kept thinking of again and again. So when I found striped fabric on special one day and I had just learnt to use my new overlocker, the timing was perfect!
I rarely make clothes for myself but I’d really like to learn so here it is. Not perfect by any means but good enough to wear in public!
I made it using this tutorial from Sugar Baby Boutique. I was super lazy so instead of drawing up a pattern I just laid I skirt that I knew fitted right and had a bit of an A-line shape to it down on the folded fabric and cut! Next time I would give it more fullness, but this is still comfortable to wear, and I know sometimes a fitted skirt can be more flattering.
I’m very tempted to wear it on Craft Retreat this weekend but it really needs a wash first to get rid of some creases.
Plus I’m still deciding whether it might be too long? What do you think?
