ModernQAL: Stacked Squares

modernqal stacked squares block

Time for the next block in the Modern Blocks Quilt Along – our last block! This one is called Stacked Squares and you can find the tutorial for it over at Sew Delicious. Ros has done a great job of showing you how to make this block step by step, and I love her featured fabric!

This block has another chance to show off a favourite fabric in the centre. Watch out if you decide to use a directional fabric for the sections where I have used the navy blue fabric though. These pieces would need to be cut carefully if you used a stripe, for example.

Time to see all the blocks!

Now I just have to decide what to do with all these lovely blocks. I always planned to make them into a quilt but I suppose they could become cushions or a hanging or even bags instead. If I do make them into a quilt, I have to decide whether to add some sashing or borders. Hmmm… things to think about…

It’s not too late to join in if you’re interested. Visit And Sew We Craft to see links to all the related posts so far.
