I often find my kids need some extra stuff in the middle of our school year, and I know it is “back to school” time in other parts of the world, so today’s Four for Friday is four things to sew for the kids to use at school.
Simple Library Bag
This is the simplest library bag ever but you could easily dress it up with some applique or ‘patchworking’ a couple of different fabrics together. Click on the picture for the step by step tutorial.
Felt Recorder Case
Soft felt is perfect to protect a recorder and easy to sew with. This recorder case uses a collection of colours but you could easily just use one colour and it would be even quicker to make! Find the tutorial by clicking on the picture.
Calculator Case
Calculators are not cheap so I want ours to last a couple of years at least. This simple zippered pouch is padded with soft batting to protect the calculator. The kids tell me it also helps them find their calculators quickly and avoids mixing them up with someone else’s – bonus! Click the picture for the tutorial.
Chair Bag
Finally this is one of my all-time favourite tutorials and one I have shared many times before. This simple bag slips over the back of a chair to hold folders or hats in class – or at home! Again you will find the step by step tutorial by clicking on the picture.
