It is Creative Craft Retreat time again and I’m starting to get excited! Which of my many WIPs should I take to work on – or should I start on something new? It is always tempting to start something knowing that I will have a WHOLE WEEKEND to work on it!
Haven’t heard of Creative Craft Retreat yet? Let me explain.
Each year a bunch of lovely ladies get together at Perseverance Dam outside Crows Nest and get creative. There are some classes for those that want to learn new skills – like quilting or book art, bag making or crochet or paper crafting – and then there are the ladies who bring a work in progress to finish or a brand new project to work on all weekend.
The venue is fabulous with small cabins for sleeping, a big hall for everyone to lay out their crafting and a separate meals area so we don’t have to keep packing up our projects.
Apart from the great company, there is a guest speaker on Sunday morning – this year a local writer, Adele Jones. On Saturday night there is Games Night and there is always the option to stay up late chatting and creating. It really is a lovely weekend.
This year the retreat is from Friday night October 30th to Sunday afternoon November 1st. Registration are open right now until 9th october and the whole weekend including all meals costs $135.
You can read all about the classes and book online at the Creative Craft Retreat website here.

One of these years I’m going to make it to your retreat Tonya. I’d love to come. Just a bit too much on this year with a school fete next weekend and both children’s birthdays in November. I hope you girls have heaps of fun. I’m looking forward to the ASWC retreat next year.

Hi Tonya,
This sounds like my kind of event – low key and peaceful with friends doing what I love best. Too bad there’s a continent between us. But, for those who do live close enough to attend, I wanted to be sure they hear about it. I talked about it here,

I hope you’ll share some photographs with your readers after you return.
Warmly,
