Crafty Kids: Lego Creationary

More Lego.

We don’t really need it but the kids LOVE it!

This time it was thanks to Aunty J. Mr Happy has a birthday soon so a couple of weeks ago (yes, why wait until his birthday, right?) she gave him a Lego game, Creationary.

I’ve looked at the games before but the kids haven’t been that keen on them so as yet we hadn’t bought any. But naturally we had to play this one within hours of receiving it. It was fun!

The idea is that you draw a card and roll a dice (made of Lego, of course) to work out which item you have to build. Then you have to try to build it while the other players try to guess what it is. There’s a few extra rules and options but that is the basics.

Mr Happy was thrilled to have a box of Lego with little compartments to store all the pieces in. In fact, a couple of mornings I have found him just playing with the pieces and building random items.

I love this game for the way it made them build without a set of instructions to follow. Too often, especially when they were younger, they would only build their Lego exactly the way the books said to. This didn’t have a book so they had to use their imagination. So great!

If you’ve considered Lego Creationary but not been sure, I would highly recommend it. No, this is not a sponsored post. I just wanted to share something we’ve found and enjoyed as a family.

That looks cool, definitely a game my 4 would get into, thanks for sharing your great find!

I love Lego…we are just at the Duplo stage and I can’t wait to get to the full blown Lego stage!
Although Toddler C already doesn’t like me messing with his creations. I might have to buy a set of my own!
