UFO Challenge August

Remember those UFO’s (Unfinished Objects) that I wanted to get on with? Remember how I thought if I put it out there to the Blogosphere it might make me accountable enough to actually complete some of them?

Well, it hasn’t worked quite as well as I would have liked but I have made progress.

In June, I said I wanted to finish this Japanese quilt. I ironed it, found backing fabric and basted the layers together ready to quilt. Then in July, I started quilting it. We’re now into August and I’m still quilting. I’m keeping it simple with straight lines down the length of the panels. I found a beautiful gold variegated thread that gradually gets darker and lighter as I go along which is looking lovely. I have seven sections running down the design to quilt around and I have completed 5 of them. I was slowed a little by having to send my sewing machine into to be serviced. It was skipping stitches and creating longer and shorter stitches but a couple of days with the repair man has fixed that. Yay!

July Challenge

In July I said I wanted to work on my pile of pencil cases and coin purses for my Shop. I completed about 10 new items during the month so although I didn’t get rid of the pile, I made progress.

August Challenge

I’ve decided not to add anything new this month – especially considering the month is half over now! I will keep going on my quilt and pencil cases. But I’d love to hear what you’re going to work on. You can still sign up for emails in this post.

How about you?

Have you made progress – or even finished – any of your UFO’s? I would love you to share. If you’ve written a blog post, share the link in the comments. If you have photos, feel free to share the over on my Facebook page. If you’re on Instagram, you could tag me there (@CraftyMummy) or tag them #UFOChallenge. If you share, you may just find yourself featured in my next email!

I’ve just written a post about my UFO’s too! I really need to finish a wedding present that I started last November (when they got married!) rx
