Cross Stitch Rainbow Block 8

Cross Stitch Rainbow Blocks-001

I’m sure I’ve picked a favourite block before but I’m changing my mind: THIS is my favourite block! This is number 8 in my Cross Stitch Rainbow Block series and I love it! Most of the blocks have been based directly on traditional quilt blocks but this block came from my imagination. I started playing with chevrons and ended up with this. I love the way the chevrons point to the centre block and also away from it.

My new favourite project is Cross Stitch Rainbow Block 8 with its unusual chevron design. Grab the free chart to stitch your own.

Once again I have used the same seven rainbow colours in DMC stranded thread and I’ve set this block into the bottom right-hand corner of my group. Only one more block to go now and I’ll be able to frame these.

I’ve been so excited to see some folks on Instagram stitching these blocks already and to hear of others also stitching. I’ve been enjoying having some “slow” time myself as I’ve done this project in the midst of my life that seems to be busier and busier. In fact, I’m enjoying it so much that I’m already planning my next series of blocks in my head!

How lovely! I used to do a lot of cross stitch but it was always very traditional stuff. You’re making me want to dig out my box of floss 😉
