Ruffle Scarf

ruffle scarf blue grey

Just when it was getting into warmer Summer weather here in Queensland, we’ve had a cold snap. Perfect timing for me to wear my newest scarf!

It was made by a lovely lady from our church craft group. It is beautiful!

I’d love to share more details about how to make it, but, sorry, I can’t. I can tell you it is knitted. The yarn is a special type that sort of pulls open to create a woven texture. It is very soft and silky. I think Miss V said it is imported from Italy, but don’t quote me on that one. I’ll have to find out.

Miss V is hoping to sell these online next year, so I’ll be sure to let you know when she has them online.

Help me out: Does anyone know that name of this yarn? I know one of my clever readers is sure to recognise it!

What a beautiful scarf! Sorry I’m no help as to the type of yarn – not a knitter myself – but it does look lovely!
Hope it warms up for you soon – the weather’s gone a bit crazy! We’re getting 39C here!

Thanks Jill. We had some hot days here but now they are cool again – very strange Summer!

I don’t know the name of it but I can tell you it was the rage at the craft shows this year! Especially at the Canberra Stitches and Craft Show!

I think Miss V found it at the Brisbane craft show, which of course I didn’t make it too. Maybe next year?

Your scarf is gorgeous – I love the blue shades! I made one in soft baby pink and love the feel when wearing it. The wool I used was called Can-Can Yarn. It is knitted using a slightly different knitting technique to normal, but is very easy to knit and grows so fast!

Oh, I wonder if that’s what she used? It sound like it. Pink sounds lovely.

Thanks so much, Karen. You’ll have to share a picture of yours when you finish it, Zoe.

It might be Elicia yarn from Lincraft?
I’ve seen it but haven’t used it yet.

    Have a look here…

How weird is it to watch man’s hands knitting!? lol

Thanks Thea. I saw some similar in Spotlight this morning too.

It is kind of weird to see “man hands” knitting isn’t it? Most tutorials I’ve seen have been by women.
