Hello Blogger Lunch

by Tonya Grant |Filed Under: Blogging Get a Weekly Update of all Articles

bloggers lunch

This year I decided to “step up” my blogging.

  • I moved my blog to WordPress in May. I wish I’d done it earlier!
  • I started offering sponsor spots in my sidebar.
  • I made a concerted effort to find Australian bloggers to read and follow.
  • I made myself use Twitter although I didn’t get it at all!
  • I set up my online store on Madeit.

Most recently I bravely decided to attend a bloggers lunch – and I (not so bravely) talked B from B Being Cool into coming with me {wink}

It was great!

I expected to know 3 people – Melissa from Suger Coat It, Kelly from Be a Fun Mum and Talia from Number 19 and And Sew We Craft. I had read all these blogs and was so looking forward to meeting them in person.

I also met a bunch of other Queensland bloggers, some that I had heard of and some that I hadn’t, but they were all lovely. Funnily enough, some of them I recognised their faces from Twitter and Facebook even though I couldn’t remember their names or blogs. Just goes to show how well “branding” works.

We ate pizza, chatted and mingled while Brisbane weather did its best to chase us away with thunder and rain. I made myself meet everyone there. I probably should have taken more photos but otherwise I enjoyed a little piece of time out and blogging talk with people who got it.

Thanks to Hello Blogger events and Danielle and Melissa.

      I was sorry not to meet you, Danielle. You would have been on the list of blogs I had actually read! Next time…

    It was a fun day out! I am still thinking, thinking, thinking of all the things I learnt.

    So many cool people there! Glad that we managed to stay dry DURING the event – the walk back to the car was very wet. So… when are we going to set a Toowoomba branch of ‘Hello Blogger’?

      Thanks for “holding my hand”, B. I really would not have been brave enough without you!

      Hmmm… maybe early next year for Toowoomba?
