Sew a Green Shopping Bag

grocery bag tutorial

Grocery Shopping.

One of the never-ending tasks of my life. Not one of my favourites but there are worse things. Like scrubbing the shower. Or mopping the floors. Or…

Sorry! I got distracted.

Grocery Shopping.

I often shop at the local store that requires me to provide my own bags – or have my food roll around my boot on the way home! So I have some of those standard size green shopping bags that work just great but are getting a little worn. Time for some new ones soon, so I’ve been on the lookout for a pattern.

I’ve found not only a pattern but a great step by step tutorial with lots of pictures over at She Wears Flowers.

Now if I can just find some cute purple fabric like hers, my bags would get a complete makeover!

Thanks for sharing my shopping bag tutorial! I can’t find these fun fabrics anymore, but utility fabric is still out there. Our bags are still going strong even though my girls carry snow boots in them and just might drag them around more times than I can count!

No – thanks for writing it, Tammy! I’ve often wondered how to create the neat square corners like that
