I love a sewing challenge and recently I came across someone asking for an apron to wear at markets. They wanted pockets for their notebook, phone and pens, plus a zippered pocket for money. I offered to have a go at making something for them. This is the result and I’m going to make some more to go into my Shop.
The fabric is from Ikea and is a sturdy upholstery weight so it should wear well. The zippered pocket was the trickiest part. I have actually added the zippered section on top of one of the other pockets so notes or papers could slip behind the change section.
There are two narrow pockets for pens or pencils at one end and two wider pockets at the other end for a phone, notebooks or business cards. The waist tie is nice and wide and long enough to wrap around the front for easy tying.
I will be selling these for $30 plus postage so if you’d like one let me know via Madeit or email.

That is very cool. I can see it being super handy for our parent volunteers at sausage sizzles and stalls. Will have to send link to our P&F 🙂

Great idea, Marita. I could make a set in school colours!

What a cool idea of a zippered section.
I’ve had one of these on my to make list for ages not for the markets but for when I’m crafting or just around the house to put bits and pieces in when I don’t have pockets.

Love the Apron!!!! Do you ship to Calgary, Alberta Canada?
CraftyMummy says
I could, Denise. Postage would be $15 unregistered, or $23 if I registered it so it is tracked and signed for on delivery.
