I find I have lots of chores to do in my day.
Sometimes I have lots of little pockets of time too.
Not enough time to clean the whole house, but often enough time to do a quick job.
I have discovered that I really can get quite a lot done in the time it takes to boil the kettle!
Here’s some ideas of things you can do while the kettle boils
- Collect the washing and take it to the laundry
- Make a bed
- Chop an apple for the school lunches
- Put away the shoes from the hall
- Open a few windows
- Unpack the dishwasher
- Empty the rubbish bin
- Check off your To Do list
- Make a To Do List
- Wipe the crumbs from the kitchen table
- Load the washing machine
- Rinse the dinner dishes
- Wipe down the stove top
- Make a snack, like Chocolate Brownie or Apple Cinnamon Muffins
- Wipe out the microwave
- Tidy a shelf of the pantry
- Wipe out a shelf of the fridge
- Check the expiry dates on the jars in the fridge
- Put away the folding
- Wipe the bathroom sinks down
- Change the hand towels and tea towels
- Open the mail
- Pay a bill
- Update the calendar
- Clear the kitchen bench
- Wipe out the cutlery drawer
- Wipe the top of the fridge
- Shake the crumbs from the toaster
- Sweep or vacuum the kitchen floor
- Fill the drink bottles for school
- Gather the library books to go back
- Read a blog post at The Crafty Mummy
- Bring in the empty rubbish bin from the road
- Collect the mail
- Listen to the kids read their home reader
- Empty out your handbag
- File a pile of papers in the filing cabinet
- Sort the socks
- Get the kids Tuckshop orders written
- Make a shopping list
- Edit a blog post
- Brainstorm your next blog post
- Clean a mirror
- Tidy a drawer
- Wash a window
- Brush your hair
- Unpack the groceries
- Refill the sugar bowl
- Answer or delete emails
- Open a packet of biscuits – to go with your cuppa, of course!
