50 Chores To Do while the Kettle Boils

I find I have lots of chores to do in my day.

Sometimes I have lots of little pockets of time too.

Not enough time to clean the whole house, but often enough time to do a quick job.

I have discovered that I really can get quite a lot done in the time it takes to boil the kettle!

Here’s some ideas of things you can do while the kettle boils

  1. Collect the washing and take it to the laundry
  2. Make a bed
  3. Chop an apple for the school lunches
  4. Put away the shoes from the hall
  5. Open a few windows
  6. Unpack the dishwasher
  7. Empty the rubbish bin
  8. Check off your To Do list
  9. Make a To Do List
  10. Wipe the crumbs from the kitchen table
  11. Load the washing machine
  12. Rinse the dinner dishes
  13. Wipe down the stove top
  14. Make a snack, like Chocolate Brownie or Apple Cinnamon Muffins
  15. Wipe out the microwave
  16. Tidy a shelf of the pantry
  17. Wipe out a shelf of the fridge
  18. Check the expiry dates on the jars in the fridge
  19. Put away the folding
  20. Wipe the bathroom sinks down
  21. Change the hand towels and tea towels
  22. Open the mail
  23. Pay a bill
  24. Update the calendar
  25. Clear the kitchen bench
  26. Wipe out the cutlery drawer
  27. Wipe the top of the fridge
  28. Shake the crumbs from the toaster
  29. Sweep or vacuum the kitchen floor
  30. Fill the drink bottles for school
  31. Gather the library books to go back
  32. Read a blog post at The Crafty Mummy
  33. Bring in the empty rubbish bin from the road
  34. Collect the mail
  35. Listen to the kids read their home reader
  36. Empty out your handbag
  37. File a pile of papers in the filing cabinet
  38. Sort the socks
  39. Get the kids Tuckshop orders written
  40. Make a shopping list
  41. Edit a blog post
  42. Brainstorm your next blog post
  43. Clean a mirror
  44. Tidy a drawer
  45. Wash a window
  46. Brush your hair
  47. Unpack the groceries
  48. Refill the sugar bowl
  49. Answer or delete emails
  50. Open a packet of biscuits – to go with your cuppa, of course!
