My Little Miss learnt to make origami bunnies at school last week. I’m still not quite sure why the Chinese teacher is teaching Japanese origami but she loves his classes. I suppose it is a very multicultural lesson when they make “western” Easter bunnies in Chinese class with a Japanese craft!
These bunnies are a very traditional origami in Japan. They are a variation on paper balloons. Once you have all the folds in place, you actually blow them up like a balloon. Fun!
She went a little crazy and made a whole bunch of them in different sizes, then gave them all names. Very cute!
Learn to make your own balloon bunny at Origami Club, where you can find both a PDF pattern and a video to help you.
