Did you realise that crochet charts can be written in either U.S. or U.K. crochet stitches?

I had been crocheting for a while before I realised this, and it is one of the first questions I have been asked each time I have published a tutorial for one of my crochet blankets.

In the midst of working on another crochet related article, I created these charts and I couldn’t resist sharing them with you straight away.

The one above shows you the equivalent crochet stitches in U.S. and U.K. terminology – kind of a crochet conversion chart, I suppose.

The one below shows you the common abbreviations for each of the stitches so you can recognise them when you find them in a pattern.
